August 2020

Kona Swim Lessons August 2020 Newsletter

July session was awesome!  Every child had a private lesson for the group rate.  We really made a lot of progress and had a lot of fun!  If you weren’t quite ready in July that’s okay- It’s time to register for August!!  1st Class of the session is August 9th! This session will be limited to first come first serve as space is limited per the new guidelines.

Please pay online to confirm your spot.  We are now offering incentive pricing with the online system.  I wanted to be as paperless as possible, however if you want to pay cash you may choose that as an option for payment online- bring cash in a sealed envelope with your receipt number clearly labeled and child’s name on the envelope.

If you are a new participant please download the participant waiver before checkout and email to info@konaswimlessons.com or bring to first lesson.

Dates for the August Session are subject to change with pending Covid19.

Per guidelines at the Club, we will be following all social distancing guidelines.  The policies are changing slightly.

  • Absolutely No Parents or extended family will be Allowed on Deck for any reason due to social distancing guidelines.  Please wait in your car for your child as much as possible to avoid gathering at the door.
  • We will do our best to limit the number of keiki per instructor, the goal is to have only two children per instructor (with family members being with the same instructor whenever possible).  It will be more like private lessons 🙂 Better value for you! Please address any concerns with staff!
  • No access to restrooms will be allowed unless an “emergency” and a teacher will take the child into the restroom. Please have keiki use the restroom at home before coming to class!  All keiki must be dressed in their swimsuit ready to swim.
  • Should your child not feel well for any reason please do not bring them to class out of courtesy and consideration and the well being of everyone.

To confirm- there is safety in the pool environment after doing some research I learned  the following:  “If you’re swimming in a pool with chlorine, the risk of contracting the virus is even lower. “The coronavirus doesn’t survive in chlorinated water,” infectious disease expert Amesh A. Adalja, MD, senior scholar at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security in Maryland.

As I mentioned before, If the reason for not participating is financial please let me know as I am hoping to create a scholarship program for those who want to assist other families.  However, that depends on our receiving financial support from the community.  If you are able to help another family beyond your own family financially please let me know or click here to purchase a “scholarship” package.   I discounted that rate and will make up the difference myself.

Thank you again for your support of Kona Swim Lessons!
